Image may contain: 1 person

Roksolana received a second placing for her Lions Peace Poster entry. The theme was  'The Future of Peace'.

The only criteria was that there was not to be any writing in the artwork.
Roksolana created a colourful visual representation of peace within the world.

Congratulations on your efforts, Roksolana!

Room 17's Zentangle Art Works

Our Zentangle art work finally came together during the last week of term. It took a long time to bring it together as the background designs were very detailed as in some cases.

The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns.
Almost anyone can use it to create images and designs. It is said to increase focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being, according to an Internet definition.
The Zentangle Method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages.
Our group creation featured a message that only developed clearly when the art works were placed on the wall.  The message reflected our theme for Term 1. It says, 'Different individuals valuing each other regardless of skin, intellect, talents or years.'
The art works can be viewed individually by going to each student's blogs.

Teko Teko Panels

Part of maths, art and Te Reo, we looked at the design and layout of  a Teko Teko in Term 2.  The result were these amazing pieces of artwork to be proudly displayed on the classroom wall.  At this stage, not everyone had completed their work.

With the exception of the tongue and patu, everything else is to be symmetrical.

Room 17's Pou for the school Wharenui.

After the class planned and designed their own Pou templates, four were chosen for elements in their images.

Eleanor, Benjamin, Keshavleen and Rebecca have aspects of their work included in the class presentation. They will have spent two days solid, creating the full panel. We look forward
to seeing the end results.

Clockwise from top left to right: Benjamin, Rebecca, Eleanor and Keshavleen's work.

Pointilism Art

This art work was created by Sam using the old style of Pointillism. He made it by using cotton buds
dipped in a range of colours to help to create the depth and detail in his scene. It is very much like a Rembrandt picture judging by the colours he has chosen.
